This painting began in one place, and it did not end up any way that I planned.  I had a picture in my head with a beautiful and inspiring thought that went along with it.  

It did not work.  I wrestled with it.  I put it aside.  I thought it was worthless.  

Then, I picked up a palette knife and brushes and painted from the gut.  I painted in the reality that most things are not what we contrive. They are harder to form and impossible to control. We see slivers of color and confusing shadows.  

There is only One who sees fully.  We can trust or we can fight.  We usually only succumb to trusting after the fighting and pouting and tears.  Beautifully, He allows us to experience slivers of beauty.  Now we see dimly, and one day, we will see fully.  I am thankful for the Grace embodied in the One who patiently shepherds me to see beauty "Mingled."
